2009 Starlet Collection

Now that our lacrosse work is coming to a close, I plan to spend the month of July showcasing some of our other works.  I’d like to begin with this beautiful collection of Starlets – a great group of girls who aren’t little anymore, but not full grown rock stars yet either!  If you have a starlet you’d like photographed, give us a call or shoot us an email.  Young men are always welcome too!

All 2009 ASA Lacrosse Team & Individual Pictures have been mailed.

Hello everyone,

All of this year’s Lax team & indy pics have been mailed as of yesterday (Mon 06/01/09) from the Apex PO in stiff hardboard mailers.  If you have not received your pictures by Monday, 06/08/09, please let us know ASAP so we can correct the issue.  If you know of or have heard of anyone else not receiving their pictures, please have them contact us.  Thank you for another successful season, and we look forward to working with many of you again for Cougar Select as well as the 2009 ASA Football and Cheer season!

Plane (from my porch)

Ok, this picture might not seem all that impressive, but I had all of about 30 seconds to grab the camera, find the plane in the sky, focus, and fire.  This little yellow plane flies over my house (and many parts of Apex) frequently, and I’ve been wanting to get a picture of it for quite some time.  It was flying deceptively fast – I had a lot less time than I thought to get it.  In fact, I missed it on the first pass and was lucky enough to catch it come around a 2nd time.  So here it is, a little gem, a blast from the past, one of life’s little treats. (I believe this plane is called a supercub, but I could be wrong.)

1st Batch of Lacrosse Pics have been mailed

The 5-8 Girls Gold team and the 7-8 Boys Gold team should be receiving their Team & Individual pictures in the mail this week.  If you do not receive them by Friday or Saturday, please let me know ASAP.  Four more teams should be arriving by UPS tomorrow – I actually expected them today, not sure what happened there.  Thank you everyone for your patience.  Most of you know that we do not print our pictures here in Apex.  We send them to a professional lab, and during this time of year lab times can get backed up due to the high volume of sports teams being processed.  THANKS!!

Hello Lacrosse Season!!

Hello ASA Lacrosse Families!  We are well on our way to getting the Team & Individual pictures taken for all of the boys’ and girls’ ASA Lacrosse teams.  It’s been such a pleasure to hear comments from those of you who know us from previous seasons!  Thank you to everyone who let us know how much you love our work, and to all of our new families – we hope you won’t be disappointed! We’ve had a few scheduling challenges due to a couple of tournaments, but don’t worry, we will get everyone’s team.  Here is some updated info that has been requested:

Last night we had several girls from the 1-4 team who had forgotten their jerseys.  Due to this, the team pictures for 1-4 Black and 1-4 Gold will be taken on May 2nd at the Twig & Cookie Tournament which will be held at Finley Fields in Chapel Hill, and any individual pictures can be made up at that time as well.

All 3 of the boys’ 5-6 grade teams will have to be rescheduled due to the Stick it to Cancer Tournament.  More info to come!

USA Women’s Lacrosse!

Hello everyone, welcome to 2009!  The holidays provided a nice break for Renaissance Photography.  Action photography was relatively quiet for the last couple of months with the exception of a couple of basketball games.  This past weekend we were pleased to shoot some pictures of the USA Women’s Lacrosse World Cup team when they came to Chapel Hill for a youth clinic and tournament held at Finley Field.  It was Renaissance Photography’s honor and pleasure to be asked by the deBeer representative to shoot some pictures for them!  deBeer is sponsoring #3 Devon Wills and #12 Michele DeJulius.  Here are a couple of pictures we took of them:

We’ll be getting galleries of Devon, DJ, and their teammates up soon, as well as some shots from several other outstanding women’s teams who played in the South of the Border tournament on Sunday, February 8th.  Watch for these and some more exciting shots coming up soon!

Just in time for the holiday season!  Many of you have asked us about reordering your ASA team & individual photos.  They are now available online in the same event galleries as the action photos.  You can find them by going to www.rpactionphotos.com and clicking the lens that says “Event Galleries”.  From there, click on Apex Sports Authority and find your division.  Thank you for another successful season with ASA!  Your purchases support ASA, and as always, if you need assistance locating or ordering your pictures, please do not hesitate to call or email.
